Description: This paper describes the methods used to analyze interview data collected for the GoodWork® project‘s study of journalism. Establishing a record of the research and analytic methods used, it lays out in considerable detail and presents the rationale for the steps taken in the analysis. The paper also serves as a means of introducing colleagues and new researchers to the ways in which the phenomenon of good work is studied in this project. Examples are drawn from journalism in order to make the discussion concrete. Technical details are included as separate appendices.
